Re: Series 1 FHC seat base question

Power coating is nice, completely unnecessary in this and many uses today. I believe folks think it to be some sort of a status thing? Epoxy primer is the most important then most any topcoat is all that's needed. The world is mad over power coat. I am biased as a painter, routinely seeing my work 2...

Re: FHC gutter trim

The aftermarket supply is likely all the same? I fit mine with some 3m panel bonding adhesive (very little) many soft clamps they look fabulous! they might clip on in a few spots if you are lucky. dry fit then, bend carefully, trim rear with a fine grinder and file. I bought mine from Welsh, very ha...

Re: Rear Lamps - new or rechrome?

I am a licensed body man, I purchased new reproduction tail light assembly's from Welsh. no modifications to fitment at body was needed to housing or gasket. I was very happy with chrome and overall quality.

Re: Colour choice

Black is the most easy to spray, and touch up afterwards, never a colour match problem, if you use simple carbon black. Single stage urethane paints simplify the process over base clear. every other colour is harder to get and keep right! I have painted thousands and you can never go very wrong on m...

Re: My rear bump stop bracket binding badly

Did some cutting and grinding now have 3/8 of an inch clearance. Appears to be pretty much all I will get, the wheel comes of easy. Hopefully the height drops some more when it’s at final driving weight. Thanks

Re: My rear bump stop bracket binding badly

I’ll do some measuring, then pull the wheels off tonight and try to figure what the problem is. Really hate to disturb the body now, agree with everything you have said.
Thanks

Re: My rear bump stop bracket binding badly

I know what you are saying to be true. About the ride, not from first had experience though. This car will probably mostly be garage candy, I am trying to copy this car that I love. Im actually thinking, at double the cost of getting Motor wheel service the custom build 2 wheels, they said they will...

Re: My rear bump stop bracket binding badly

Standard splines, standard motor wheel service wheels, it’s actually pretty much all mostly stock aside from the tires and lower tow plate. body had no damage in the areas of the bump stops. The quarter skins were replaced and I deliberately made them a little proud for clearance. My friend who died...

My rear bump stop bracket binding badly

I removed the rubber ground the remaining brackets about 1/4 inch. Finally fitting my rear and wheels and still my 205s on 5” rims are fully tight together. I’m depressed! I actually have plenty of clearance to the quarter panel. Almost feel I built the differential wrong. I phoned Motor wheel servi...

Re: New head light kit series 1

Have to admit, I'm really starting to like the 1.5 a lot! And I have two covered series 1s.
