I just remember thinking after a few mile, things just cant go so badly so quickly. The common denominator was the dizzy cap.....

Sorry for not reading your post earlier........I have the same issues and it is usually damp in the dizzy cap. 2K paint
For what its worth. Have the bits blasted/cleaned. 2k Epoxy primer which is available in a multitude of colours. Flat all primed items and 2k solid colour
on top of that.
My IRS as been done 3yr and a quick wipe over every month or so and it comes up like new. Just my experience..........
