Having purchased a used powr lok diff I need to be sure it will behave before I fit it
Has anybody rebuilt their own? If so can anyone tell me how many friction plates are fitted to a 2+2 series 1 4.2
Hope someone has this information
Best regards Paul

Hi
If i can remember
The upper trim hooks on,and is secured on the bottom edge by self taping screws, the lower trim then fits under the chrome and clips to the door.with the pull handle, window winder and door handle giving the final security.
Hope that helps

Hi
I have had the same problem
and struggled for ages to cure it
in the end the cure was having the distributer rebuilt
by the distributer doctor
now running good old fashioned points !!
and very pleased to say now completely reliable ( I could speak to soon!)
thanks Paul

I was shocked at the price of this
so when rebuilding the car I looked for something to use

A caravan/trailer plug and socket did the job
using the old shrouds,
using the larger pins for headlamps, 3 years use no trouble.
about ?20 most outlets

Hi I presume you have some concerns with the original fuse arrangement so was i, the best protection would be to measure the consumption of each circuit and fuse accordingly. a lot of circuits use the same fuse ideally each should have its own fuse I just ended up using an isolator on the battery th...

noise

Hi
mine has a dry sort of squeak
i have tracked it down to the bush where it passes through the body
but still not managed to find a permanent cure
I am hoping it will wear enough to stop the rubbing !

easy

Hi Tony
it is really not very difficult
the furniture clinic will colour match
I only had a blue rear seat for my 2+2 I have recolured the whole thing
a little patience is all you need, you could always practice on some old leather

repair

Hi
you can repair the leather
try,www.furnitureclinic.co.uk
I wanted to keep the original seats in mine
but full of holes about the size of a ten pence peice
their kit sorted it, you glue a patch behind then use a flexible filler and paint to match your colour
hope this helps

Hi
no mistake! but it turns out a good reason
A heating oil tanker had a problem and lost oil over about six miles!
so it seems the best thing was to send a spreader, they were out with sand today to soak up some more
first time ive seen this but better safe and all that
