Re: Air conditioning service?

Evening Zei, Did you manage to get the a/c fettled ? I’m about to have my factory fitted a/c on my 1969 s2 fhc sorted out, and would be interested to read what you did, and whether you needed to replace the Tecumseh compressor. I have retained mine as LHD specifically to keep the a/c for long runs o...

S2 fhc headrest

Dear boffins, Just retrimming my seats and have run into a problem. Does anyone know what this little tube is made off, or whether a replacement part is available. I have looked in my Moss catalogue with no joy. Whilst it looks like a piece of manky old penne pasta, I think it was possibly a rubber/...

Thanks for this Darren,

And to the other posters. Would you be able to say where you got the new bulbs from ? And are you able to post a picture of the completed job, lit up ?

Kind regards,

Damien

Re: S2 fhc - aircon renovation

Many thanks for this John. You’re a mine of information. Rear diff is going back in this week, then various bits of bodywork and welding, plus a respray, so it will be a little while before I come back to you with the outcome of your suggestions. I really appreciate the time you took in responding, ...

S2 fhc - aircon renovation

Dear All, I have decided to leave my 1969 s2 fhc as a lhd, and I would like to keep the factory aircon completely as it is. Does anybody know if it is possible to simply renovate what is there, or can recommend a specialist to do the same ? I’m in Yorkshire, but willing to travel. Many thanks, Damien

Re: Fuel Injection Jenvey Throttle Bodies

Fantastic videos, and looks like things are well and truly fettled. I am seriously considering the EFI route now, as my US import is on dual Strombergs. I might just wait until it is back on the road, see how it is running, and whether I get on with them, and then do the change. Would you be able to...

Re: 50 Year Celebration of the Series 2 !

Just seen this.

I would be in, as a date later in the year would be the ideal way of putting some pressure on to get the thing done and finished. Hopefully with my Marek-made faired in headlights...

Now then, Steve,

What a cracker. I was especially salivating over the engine photo; absolutely stunning.

Yup. Completely agree.

I've been down to them for bits for my mark 2 and they could not have been more helpful or knowledgeable.

I have absolutely nothing but praise for them.

Re: Just joined, saying hello!

Hallo Ritchie, And welcome to the forum, were you'll find the most knowledgeable and approachable folks of any forum I have been a member of. I've just bought a 1969 fhc, which is shortly en route from the states and I have been looking for a couple of years, but only serously since Christmas. I had...

Now then Peter. By gum, she's a thing of beauty, isn't she ? Mine is coming in from New Hampshire via the garage I bought it from (sight unseen) delivering it to New Jersey, the onwards to Felixstowe. I'm using Kingstown, who are a Hull based outfit, as I was hoping to get it up here, closer to Ampl...

Re: Now then.

Ey up Mike. It is coming in from one of those desert states, where they have no rain and humidity in the low teens. It's New Hampshire, so the floors will definitely need welding: https://s2.postimg.org/m69dufoix/IMG_0016.jpg I am sure there'll be other tin-worm related horrors, once I get it back.

Now then Peter, Welcome to the forum. I'm just waiting my first e-type coming in from The States. How exciting is the prospect ?! Please could you stick up some pics once yours arrives. Re: Now then.

Thank Steve Geoff, and Andrew, Good news is that I've bought a S2 4.2 1969 fhc. I'm just sorting having it brought in from US, even with the catastrophic exchange rate. It had to be a 1969, as a present for my 50th. I reckon it'll take me a couple of years to get it fettled then alternate it as my d...

Now then.

How do, everybody. I'm a North Yorkshire based 40-something Mk 2 owner, finally getting round to buying the car I should have bought 13 years ago. I have been highly impressed with the quality of the advice, the extent of assistance offered, and the general good grace of the forum members, so I'm ho...
