Will to live been and gone. Runs great until warmed up then the stuttering kicks in until it dies. on restart same thing. I widened the plug gap to 35 and that seemed to help. I have replaced everything in the ignition and gone back to my viper coil after trying 3. it doesnt overheat anymore, which ...

So today i replaced the electronic trigger, rotor, cap, HT+LT leads. New coil last week. plenty of fuel getting through. Runs like dog when warmed. great up to that point. Idle ok when hot but misfire under load and then just stops. leave it a few minutes and then it'll start and run for 30 secs bef...

Glad I started this thread - seems to be challenging thinking all round! So... i replaced the Viper Dry coil which was originally suspected with a Lucas sport one. No difference in the readings - ohms, volts in and out etc. BUT, the missfire is definitely worse with the new coil. Now almost as soon ...

Fitted the new Lucas sports coil and now i have a misfire all the time - right from cold!
Losing the will to live.. not thinking straight. only beer can save me now..

nope - no condenser... i had the original diz converted to electronic so its identical from the outside. forgotten who did it tho! the old ROM isnt what it ought to be..

Hi - thanks for all your suggestions. I will order another coil (this will be the third i've tried to solve the same problem, but worth a go). The current one works a treat until it gets hot. Overheating coil?

Hi all, I have a curious issue where the car starts and runs perfectly for 40 mins or so before developing a misfire that brings it to a halt, almost. I've so far managed to limp home! Idles perfectly but won't rev. Coil is very hot. Runs fine up to this point so no reason to suspect timing of fuel....
