Re: NEEDED - Steering column - lower UJ

I had the same problem. I couldn't get that 1/4-28 Allen cap screw tight enough to prevent getting slop in the splines. Rather than disassembling everything, I went through my guitar strings and found one that I could cut a couple of small pieces from to use as shims between the yoke and pinion spli...

The correct frame nylocs are taller than type P, also a thicker than standard washer is used .
The only place i have managed to source these nylocs from is Uryk at E Type Fabs - he will have a full frame fitting kit if you need bolts and shims too.
Great! I'm familiar with E Type Fabs. Thanks!

Re: Girling Front Calipers

I don't know about these new Girlings, but I used the 4 pot Fosseways on the front of my 3.8 FHC. Super well made, installation was about 45 mins total and Simon at Fosseways is a pleasure to work with and really knows his stuff!

"Long Skirt" Nylon insert nuts source

Anybody have a verifiable source for these C.8667 "Long Skirt" 5/16"-24 3/4"H nylon insert lock nuts? I've tried getting them from sources on both sides of the pond with no luck. They're either not available at all, too short or the wrong thread. I tried Namrick UK and British Fasteners USA, nuts fr...

Re: 3.8 Hex socket plug on block

5/8". Perfect! I found a set of Hex impact sockets at Harbor Freight here in the US for less than $30 that has the 5/8" socket. It's a good source for cheap tools that you'll use infrequently although their impact stuff is above average. BTW, my engine is actually in the car. I just posted that phot...

3.8 Hex socket plug on block

Hi, does anybody know what the Hex drive size is for the threaded plugs on a 3.8 E type engine block? I've got one weeping and need to source a large Hex drive socket. I can't find any part number or reference to these in the factory parts manual or with the usual suppliers. It's the plug slightly a...
