They can send samples, although maybe too thick at 10mm.
Thanks but I think they only do the carpet by the length rather than a set for the car.
Cheers

Re: Carpets

Jaguar changed the carpets to nylon flock, felt backed on the later S1 cars, this type of carpet was fitted to the S2 cars also. So you need to order carpets for a S2 car. BAS can supply these. Thanks very much for your reply. I phoned BAS but they have discontinued this type of carpet now (nylon f...

Carpets

Just replacing my original fit carpets and I can only source carpets with a simple latex back. The originals (see photo) have a latex back and a thin layer of jute/felt that is integral to the carpet (not a glued on addition). The car has the normal sound proofing jute as well, attached to the car's...

Re: Soundproofing help please

Thanks for that. Looks like you've solved no 5. I'll check when I next get the Jag out.
My car is manual.
Can't help you with your pieces I'm afraid. There are some in the spare wheel cavity but they don't look like this

Re: Soundproofing help please

I have seen some at this website https://john-skinner.co.uk/quote/trim-upholstery/jaguar-e-type/et-22-s1-et-22-s1-5-et-22-s2/carpet-flooring/undercarpet-sound-proofing-kit/ Alternatively, you can purchase it by the metre and cut it to shape from coverdale.com. Ask for a sample first. The latex backe...

Re: Soundproofing help please

Thanks for replying.
I've looked at many websites like the one you suggest but they aren't the original patterns, like the ones I'm trying to replace, more like a simplified version.
I really need to find someone who has the originals to compare with.

Soundproofing help please

https://i.postimg.cc/cH1vq4Np/soundproofing1.jpg This is a bit of a jigsaw puzzle for me as I can't remember where the soundproofing pieces in the photo fit on my 4.2, S1.5, 2+2 RHD. I removed them in 1980 and I am just putting them back now after a long renovation. I have sorted most but I need he...

Re: windscreen trim panel fixing

Thanks for the replies. However, I believe that there have been several interior mirror versions over the years and my mirror is glued to the windscreen. It is part C28516.

That's why I'm asking if there is anything to fix the trim on the centre as there is no mirror fixing on my car.

windscreen trim panel fixing

I am refitting the windscreen trim panel that is held in place at either end by the two sunvisors. I have noticed that there are three holes at the centre of the metal roof panel and in the trim panel in the shape of a triangle. I guess this was for the interior mirror. My car's mirror is fixed to t...

Re: Winder mechanism

Hello Chris, Your car being an S1.5, with the internal door lock handle proud of the door trim, the window winder mechanism can be assembled either way as shown in pictures of the two alternatives in my earlier Post. The reason for this is that the Remote Bar from Door Lock Handle to Door Lock, is ...

Re: Winder mechanism

Hi, This thread has been very useful to me as it has highlighted the fact that my window winder mechanism on my 1968, S1.5, 2+2, appears to have the spring upside down. I put the spring on about 40 years ago and it is only because of this thread that it has come to light....so thank you. Can I just ...

Re: looking for TRIPLEX logos for '68

Hi again, Yes the windscreen was the bottom photo in my original post and the car is a late 1968 (S1.5) RHD. I have attached on this post: 1. the rear hatch window, 2. the rear passenger side window and 3. the passenger side wind-down window (this is different from the driver's side and so as you sa...

I'll take some more photos tomorrow. I am surprised that the side window is 1972 but it might have been changed before I purchased it in 1977.

Oil Cleaner Parts Query

Just doing an oil change on my S1, 4.2. I notice that there is no spring clip(p/n 6163) on the bolt or felt washer(p/n 6161) under the pressure plate in my oil cleaner assembly. Probably been like that for quite a while. So what exactly does the spring clip do and is it essential? Similarly re the f...

Re: Fan Belt Late S1 cars

I already have purchased a series 2 belt and it is far too small and the series 1 belts are expensive so worth checking first. I only posted this here because it does affect a large number of cars and it might be why some people are having problems fitting the fan belt, as noted on previous topics. ...
