Re: Track day tomorrow
Update: Fantastic day. X3 runs and one in the XKR track car- serious kit great fun. Took tuition for a few laps then built up gradually. Drew some nice comments from a photographer and x2 drivers. XKR said he had to work hard to stay with me- XJR supercharged said it was a joy to watch an E driven h...

Track day tomorrow
Castle Combe track day tomorrow with the JEC. Rain early morning but then breezy and warmish. The question is: Does the track tend to remain damp and greasy? I have this before in the E-type and it's very slippery. Alway handy to learn more but I have a choice of using my V6 Alfa instead which is mu...

Re: Great autumn drive in the E-type
Trevor - I bought a x2 seat S1.5 FHC 30 years ago. Wife left when I my son was 2 years old and I kept the car - just! Never looked back really and I have used it for hi days and holidays ever since, travelling all over Europe and UK with my son by my side on holidays. First strapped into a car seat ...

Re: WINDCREEN CRACK
I thought it was Pilkington but it's unmarked. Pilkington are still making classic screen on the Isle of Sheppey Kent.

Re: WINDCREEN CRACK
Just to add that the screen is now changed. After much thought it went to National Windscreens with an XS of £75.00. They found a guy in Hastings that had done a few before and he had it done in about x4 hours.
Re: New Boy
Photo shoot now being done tomorrow in Kensington. Fingers crossed we get the forecast sunshine but not looking forward to the London computer traffic!
Re: New Boy
Projected date now 16th October in Kensington. It's a pretty low key ad for a new company so I don't think there's much to gain in history, but the experience will be interesting since I once worked in advertising.
Re: New Boy
Insurance now checked and if nobody else is driving or dropped on it then it's fine.
Maybe an interesting way to get a decent pic but a lot of cleaning will be needed!

Re: WINDCREEN CRACK
That's good to know Simon thanks. You are not far from here, so do you have a contact or name I could refer to?
I really want someone who has done it a few times and cares.

Re: New Boy
Insurance is a valid point. It's not being driven and I'll be with it all the time. Photoshoot is in a Kensington Mews so I can't really see it being a problem though.

WINDCREEN CRACK
Coming back from Goodwood I noticed a large crack appear top left of screen. About 4" long, there are no impact marks so maybe a stress crack. Made by Pilkington and maybe 17 years old fitted by Autoglass eventually after loads of problems. National windscreens are the listed insurer but do I trust ...
New Boy
New to the Forum but not to E-Types. Had mine 29 years now. Old English White, S1.5 FHC x2 seat, red interior. Good but plenty to do because it gets used all over EU and most of the UK. Just been asked if I would use it for an ad in London - pay is £150 + expenses. Not done this before, does that so...

Re: Goodwood revival
Our 20th year. Went on Sunday. The Classic car park was doable if you were careful but there was no signage to say where the entrance was from the field - finally found a hole and later found the right place some walk off to one side. How many times did they check tickets, jeez that was irritating. ...
