Re: Cylinder Head Numbers
Thank you all
The ZB prefix implies a Mk 10 although the A designation doesn't support this. The 8 at the end does suggest an 8:1 compression ratio.

Cylinder Head Numbers
Dear All I don't believe my cylinder head is original to the car (1963 series 1 3.8 fhc) and guess that the numbers/letters on the head could help identify its origins. The numbers/letters are ZB-3445-8 at valley front A in valley middle AA476 at valley rear. Could anyone help or point me in the rig...

Re: Speedo under-reads
Christopher
Many thanks - very helpful. I have a speedo marked 6322/03 1312 so meant to work with a 3.54:1 diff. This probably explains the under-read, but I take your point about the angle drive.

Re: Speedo under-reads
Thanks Julian The odometer under-reads as well so I suspect you are right that the rear diff was changed when the car was brought back from the US. The change you mention would give a 15% error. I think I am seeing more than that - the speedo will not be 100% accurate anyway. Thank you for the sugge...

Speedo under-reads
Dear all
I have a 3.8 which was brought back from the US some years ago. The speedo under-reads by c 20-25%. What could cause this? And what can I do to correct the reading?
Many thanks
Gary
