Choke light

The choke light has stopped working on my S1 3.8 FHC. Any typical things to check before I start routing around behind the dash!

Plenty of opportunity to roar around the lanes trying to find the quickest route in!! Good event, with great cars and racing. However is a little spread out. Dont expert the nostalgic feel of Goodwood.

I am certainly missing the shroud - may explain wet feet when driving to and from the Revival!

I assume fitting is straightforward - drill three holes and pop rivet on?

I guess the pipe in the door may also be missing - a little poke around should answer that before taking the door card off.

Based on a conversation at JD Classics on Saturday it would seem the earliest cars suspension components where hot dipped in an oil bath as at the time Jaguar did not have access to plating/didnt want to pay.

Just passing it on.

That was my overnight thought - I used Morris' Gold Film 30. Therefore not a multi grade, recommended for classics, although maybe not ideal for performance classics.

I think I will change it for a multi grade and see whether that sorts.

Starting with the pipe makes sense.

Thanks

Oil Change and a little smokey

I have just changed the oil and filter on my S1 3.8 FHC. All very straightforward, however a couple of hangover items: 1. I hadnt noticed before the amount of rubbish coming out of the tail pipes after idling and then blipping the throttle. It quickly clears, but is more grey brown than white and no...

The reservoirs certainly look very old, so could be the originals. The floats are still up though, so doesnt seem to be that.

FHC tailgate seal

Hi I recently replaces the rubber body seal on my S1 FHC, with a seal from one of the main suppliers. I have subsequently noticed that water is sitting in the seal and also getting into the spare wheel well and on the cavities inside below the tailgate. Has anyone any picture of a correctly fitted s...

I have a S1 FHC with original wheel and cannot get the horn boss off.

Is there a specific technique? Or likely to be glued on?

Thanks
