Thanks for the offer Pete. A lovely thought but neither my pocket nor my capabilities could stand it. I'm having enough trouble understanding the mechanics of the E Type as it is! They seem to defy logic.

I'm about to embark on removing the radiator to have it re-cored. All seems relatively clear. I notice that there are two pipes at the bottom of the radiator which have to be removed. I understand these to be for oil cooling but I'm not sure if this is engine or gear box cooling (the latter I guess)...

Thanks for the help. I'm guessing that seals and diaphragms would do the job but not sure if I can just replace them without the need to retune afterwards.
