Re: 1963 Registration. Suffix or not?

I have an original UK delivered TR4 registered on 28 June 1963 and it doesn't have a suffix letter.

Re: Hard tops

David, Do you know if the original headlining is still available for the series 3 hardtop. My one is in need of re-furbing and currently has a dog toothed type pattern on it. Not sure if it's the original or not. I have found out from the first owner that the hardtop came with the car when it was ne...

Re: Perfect Weather drive your E Type!

Hi Lee,
Good to hear you are enjoying the car whatever the weather.
Thanks for the photo of my C2.
I met Bill today at the meet and we had a chat, his E Type is exceptional, I hadn't met him before but have known his brother (who also owns an E Type amongst other cars) for a while.

Re: Perfect Weather drive your E Type!

Where were you driving Lee? Been a stunning day here in the sunny city of Southend-on-Sea. Was out in the C2 for meet up locally and met Bill (FlatFloor3.8) in his '63 3.8 Roadster. Stunning car! Temperature is a balmy 16 deg C and sunny! Ideal for a top down cruise to the meet and then hom...

Re: ULEZ exemption

All E-Types are exempt from London’s ULEZ, but they have to pay the congestion charge. Yes exempt from ULEZ charge, but you have to register them as historic on their website. Otherwise they will show as chargeable. Mike. I've just checked and mine is only showing as requiring congestion charge. Do...

Re: V-12 ignition system upgrade

Hi Brian, I have the SNG Barratt system on my V12 OTS. It works very well. However, I would advise asking them to put longer wiring leads on the amplifier and mount it on the picture frame behind the radiator, as it will be much cooler there. One of the problems with the old system was the heat that...

Re: Engine noise

Same for me, I've been worrying about it for a few months now. it's a tappet sound that gets louder as the engine temp increases. At cold start up you can't hear it. I had all the tappets shimmed as well. Was concerned that something might have worked loose. Does the V12 have a valve seat that could...

Re: Opus Amplifier

Pete, Wherever you end mounting it (mine is on the picture frame under the header tank) make sure you have a good earth through one of the mounting bolts. It is not earthed through the casing. You have to have a bolt through one of the mounting holes. I found this to my cost when I relocated the amp...
