Thanks for your reply Bob. I think the pump is working OK and don't you think that it would try to fire if a fuel issue? (I suppose I could try the hairspray treatment).
On the electric side, I'm thinking either the amplifier or coil but I suppose the only way to prove that is by replacement?

Hot Start Problem
I see there were a few postings on this issue last year but couldn't see any obvious solution. Car starts and runs perfectly but if I stop the engine after it is hot then it won't restart until it has cooled a bit, after about half an hour. I had some lumpy running issues a few years ago and cured t...

Re: Hot Running Issues
Thanks Phillip. I have moved the amplifier to the front of the picture frame as Rob advised and so far, it looks like it has resolved the issue but I will take it on a longer run to get a bit more confidence.

Re: Hot Running Issues
Thanks Rob, I was just thinking of trying that but was wondering if it would make any difference if the amplifier was damaged so your feedback gives me a bit more confidence to try.

Re: Hot Running Issues
Hi Marek, I have just been waiting on some freezer spray which arrived today so have now been able to pretty much confirm that the fault dissappears when the amplifier is cooled down. The question now is, where can I get a replacement amplifier without buying the whole SNG conversion kit?

Hot Running Issues
I seem to have developed a fault when the engine gets up to running temp that it starts to get lumpy, then I loose revs, then it comes back but eventually grinds to a halt. It will start again but very low revs and mis-firing. Depending on how long I leave it to cool down will then depend on how far...

Re: Noisey Power Steering
Thanks for your reply Chris. I talked to Splined Hub about this issue and they believe that it is normal for this to happen as it is the pressure relief valve operating (just as you say). They said that there is no problem so long as you don't keep it on full lock.

Noisey Power Steering
I get this high pitch screetch (not me, the car) when I go to full lock on either side. Is this normal or have I got a problem somewhere?
Thanks
John
Thanks

Re: Electronic ign. tacho problems
Hi Guys, promised to update you when I finally got around to fitting the tacho. As per Colin's comments, I reconnected the plug to the tacho as original and plugged it back in as well as providing a new earth for the unit. Fired it up and all working well. took it for a few spins and all seems to be...

Re: Electronic ign. tacho problems
Thanks guys for your responses which gives me the confidence to try it in its original set up first and then the -ve connection if it doesn't. Won't be able to test it for another month or so as I have some other engine work going on but will feed back when I do.

Re: Electronic ign. tacho problems
OK, so I have just received my refurbed tacho back from SR, having replaced pcb, with the plug cut off from the tacho and the same connecting instructions as everybody else  . Having read all the posts several times and scrutinised the wiring diagram, it is clear that 12V can still be picked up...

Re: Electronic ign. tacho problems
An update from Tim at SR
"If the board has gone in your Rev-Counter then a replacement board has to be fitted, the only thing Is this means the instrument has to be wired slightly different, the plug will be returned anyway."

Re: Electronic ign. tacho problems
I agree with your comments on SR Colin and have now sent them an email asking them to ensure that the plug is fitted to the unit so that I can just plug it in and get on my way.

Re: Electronic ign. tacho problems
I have just sent my Tacho off to SR and am now wondering if I am going to have the same problem as David when it is returned.
My question though is, why do SR mess about with the wiring in the first place?

Re: Thermostatic fan switch
T pipe is in good condition Craig. Marek, I ordered pt no C37392 > C45086 from SNG which is the part listed for the V12 so I would expect the temp rating to be correct. You are right about the loom and I was planning to connect the spade to W2 and the body to C3 terminals on the relay. I did mean op...
