I put on one from a more modern series 3 sedan that had a xk engine. Therefore, if it was good enough for jaguar etc, instead of the original spin on filter. I find there is much less oil spilled. I hooked it up to an oil cooler under the radiator. Appears to work well for oil pressure.

All great suggestions . The only other thing I did was put a gm fan in the heater box which runs at high rpm and has different fan blade curves. This moves massive amounts of air through the cabin. Double check that hot water is not going through heater box.

have triple webers on a series 2 with classic jag series 1 head with bigger valves . Had to fiddle with jet size but the weber suppliers have all sizes. As well the fuel pressure has to be much lower than the gas pump puts out so you will need a gas pressure regulator. I tuned them with a manometer ...

While you are doing this you might want to hook up a relay closer to the battery to run the power through the relay instead of the ignition switch.
