Re: Yet another brake bottle
I interpret "pressurized" as meaning sealed which is very doubtful.
The cap would be vented as the Girling cap in the picture is vented.
Perhaps the writer means with a sealing gasket?

Re: Alternator heat shield
Why the holes blocked by the case and heat insulation.
I would think better solid with an air apace between shield and case.

NO not the mirrors fault. It's the location.
Just too far away for a 3-4" mirror. of any shape

Re: Mirrors-Window Frame Mt-Bullet/Talbot Racing style bullet mirror available?
Field of vision is more a matter of mirror size than style I would think,
And bullet mirrors on the fenders while they look cool are next to useless IMO.
Is your chrome finisher bumped out due to mirror mounting is is that just perspective?

Re: Mirrors-Window Frame Mt-Bullet/Talbot Racing style bullet mirror available?
Geoff- doubt it. The bracket is all part of the Foseway mirror and have not idea if it would fit a different mirror. Wouldn't chance it I guess.. Not finding a frame mt bullet in the US at this point. Andrew-no hadn't seen it. The bracket looks like it would be gentle on the frame. Have to check it ...

Mirrors-Window Frame Mt-Bullet/Talbot Racing style bullet mirror available?
I have a Foseway rectangular mirror recommended here currently on my window frame and it looks nice, works well, and I find it generates a lot of wind noise so I'd like to replace it with a bullet style. Anyone recommend an OTS side window frame mount mirror of the bullet style that mounts well and ...

Re: Differential Oil Refill Amount?
Thanks Philippe but I had already filled it and was questioning whether or not the amount it took was appropriate.
I'm resolved to what the result is and appreciate the advice.

Differential Oil Refill Amount?
The Manual says 3.25 US Pints or 52 fl oz. I drained mine for 30min or so after a 20 mile drive. All I could pump in was 2.6 US Pints or about 42 fl oz or so and it overflows. I let it settle for 20 min and tried again but no more would stay in. The stub axle seals and rear cover gasket were replace...

Re: Cream touch-up paint
If you have an area of aged or custom paint you want to match most automotive paint stores have a computer match via a digital camera. Since old paint is typically a different color than the new it is often a better match than a touch-up of original color. Also different areas of paint on a car ofte...

To revive and finish off an old post of mine on rear diff lubricant and presence of yellow metals and problems with sulfur friction modifiers: I just noticed that the lubes in the Recommended Lubricants table of the Workshop Manual for the Rear Axle that I could find data sheets on contain Sulfur. A...

Re: Rear Main Oil Leak
If it is a rear seal leak the oil will be spun off of the flywheel from the center. Dead giveaway.
A rear sump leak will not exhibit in that way.
You should be able to see that area through an inspection hole.
