In response to my own question - I think that the book Leno was referring to was Clausager's "Factory-Original Jaguar E-Type".

Hi All - Thanks again for all of your comments; @chrisfell - Yes - I have thought of a 2+2 and and would still consider one should the right one appear... @Nawang - a LHD Series 2?
