The seal for the housing is behind the clutch fork. I have the Terry’s Jaguar rear main oil seal conversion that replaces the rope seal. I replaced the large gasket, but saw there is a front seal mentioned in the parts catalog for the gearbox. Did not see one when I took it apart.

Is there a front oil seal on the 4.2 gearbox? I replaced the seal on the clutch housing but still have a leak. I have a 1970 E Type coupe.

I am fitting an American type mechanical water temperature gauge to my Series 2 E Type. Does anyone know the BSP or BSPT thread size of the original temperature gauge sending unit?
