I've returned rather late to this , but I think the 6500 tacho is possibly from an early 2.8 litre XJ6 which certainly had chrome bezels. I cannot think of any other candidate - the 2.5 Daimler 0 - 6500 was of course 8 cylinders Thanks for your reply, Chris. Much more likely than a lightweight e-ty...
