Re. the condition of the calipers, the critical surface is the one that slides against the seals. For my S2 that was the piston as the seal fits inside the caliper bore. When I dropped the IRS last winter for a diff change, I cleaned up my bores and fitted stainless steel pistons - job done. I concu...

Hi Mad River. Thought I recognized the handle. I am an ex-TR4 owner who used to hang out on BCF. I am now in the E-type world and thoroughly enjoying it. We quite often go to the MG's on the Rocks show North of you as they have a good mix of Brit cars. Perhaps we might see you there in the Jag secti...

Engine Identification
My engine is non-standard and I have been trying to confirm the model (XJ6?) and year; the number is 8L 1809XX. I am told that is one digit too many, but it is definitely 6 digits after the 8L.
I haven't yet found a detailed cross reference, so I would appreciate any info you may have.
Thanks

S2 Oil Filter (original not spin-on)
Hello All,
When I got this car last year, I purchased oil filters from one of the usual suspects. They sent me the Coopers FA4012D. It comes with two o-rings; thick and thin. Which one am I meant to use?
We think the engine is from an XJ6 if that matters.
Thanks

I have been remiss in not posting pics now that the car is back on the road. Here is a shot of the E-type next to our just sold and soon to depart TR4. http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u172/TRDejaVu/100_3359.jpg Last Sunday we were one of 35 E-types that got together outside of Philadelphia for a ...

Hello All, Newbie here. I am an ex-pat Brit living in the US and have recently entered the E-type world with a 1970 Series 2 OTS. I also have a 1962 Triumph TR4, but that will be going up for sale soon. Back in the day I went through my share of TRs and Lotuses (Loti?) as daily drivers before life g...
