Hi Jagies, I just filled up my differential and although a little afraid before it turned out to be done in 10+2 minutes (2 minutes to clean the overfill). I have used a very cheap (~15€) equipment from Einhell (#3407000 Petrol and oil suction pump), a UNC nut and a compressor as you can see on the ...
I am with Marek and the design of the pipes let's me assume they are original fit just as mine were. And though they looked quite nice from the outside they were done. I hope the damage to your car is not too bad.
BR, Tom
Hi Rob, Yes it seems they have used UNC with Alu almost only (although I found some UNC nuts too). So these two bolts might belong to the second engine. But the 5 have an 8mm spacer and 1" diameter rubber ring. I just can't figure out their use as yet (maybe air filter housings ?) I will check if th...
Well these diagrams are my main source of information :D but I had a look at all schematics but could not figure out where these would go. I would need a reverse reference
Hello Jagies, I had to rebuild my E (out of boxes mainly) and right now the engine is in the car airfilter housings, seats, mudshields, exhausts not yet on/in the car and I have plenty of spares for a complete engine (the original one). But I have the dilemma that I still have about 5kgs of nuts, bo...
Ouch ! But in the end we always manage somehow. Marek told me it would have been much easier to take the manifolds off - well next time ....
Today the engine ran in the car for the first time after almost 20 years. I can celebrate the anniversary
Thank you Marek !
For some unexplainable reason I did not want to take the manifolds off the engine just to fix two sticking valves - instead I was fiddling around :D
Next time I will do it as you suggested.
As long as the engine was out of the car they were doing fine but now two of them had stuck valves. I cleaned and 'more or less' overhauled my 4 carbs but the valves seemed to work like a charm so i did not fix the new ones (what a mistake :) ) Is there some cleaning additive I can locally add to th...
Update: When I removed the Banjo the pump ran much faster and I found out that the fuel-pipe in the trunk was totally clogged and not even a drop of gas had reached the pump. It is not bent and looks ok from the outside but well it is 48 years of age ... hose with inline filter  Guess I will ...
Hi Jagies, I did not search the forum about this issue for a long time and I am a bit too excited ... Just filled gasoline for the first time in ~20 years so the fuel system was completely empty. I did fit a new fuel filter in case some debris has remained in the tank. Now the pump (I have the origi...
I in fact have never ordered @Limora and their prices are very high but independently two repair shops told me they were the oldtimer supplier of their choice, so their "reputation" seems much higher than their service quality. I am very satisfied with SNG !
Thank you Simon !!! Yes this is it - the only way it makes sense and I already begun manufacturing (with a paper model) :D Just the narrow holes on each side don't make sense to me and I am wondering why i can't see any marks from the formerly mounted bracket on my car. Thank you very much - i suspe...
... removed ...
I think the attached explosion drawing is misleading as it looks as if the lower bolts had to be used. Does the bracket not go the other way round ?
Still lost
So I mounted both plates on the bottom as original but decided to place the bolts upside down as the outside is more exposed than the trunk in terms of rust and i added two big washers in the trunk to distribute the load. The missing distance holders i cut off a brass pipe. Thank you again for helpi...
