It is a flat steel gauge that fits over the end of the camshaft on engine assembly that holds the camshaft in position while the #6 piston is at TDC.

Looking for someone who could provide a photo of the valve timing gauge with a ruler in the frame.

Thanks for the comments. Yes, I was planning to use water in a hydraulic tester to provide the pressure. Thought about air driven water but that just sounds like a way to make way too much mess.

Any reason that I cannot (should not) use water to push the pistons out of the rear calipers on a '71 FHC?

When I disassembled the rear engine mount from the tail of the gear box on my '71 FHC it certainly was not to standard. Working with the assembly drawings from SNGB I have ordered or machined all the parts to put it right. The question I have regards the Gearbox Stud (part C21336). There is a cross ...
