I feel sure that someone on the Forum has replaced the original seat belts although I can not find any info. about such.
Can anyone give details of lap & diagonal belts that are suitable, ideally inertia reel but static will do.

Does anyone have or can point me in the direction of photos showing the routing of the HP and LP pipes between the PS pump and the rack? RHD car.

Is it just me that only takes pics. that are never needed while not snapping what becomes essential?

My 71 s3 has what sounds like the same floor covering that you describe. Mine is very brittle, certainly not paint, it is in squares very much like Marley floor tiles. I've been searching around for a recon. rack for my 1971 s3. Has anyone used/got any comments about Western Power Steering in Bristol or M & P Steering in Gillingham? Both offer what seems the exact same reconditioning service but with £150 price difference? PM me if more appropriate.

I heard that we got them off ebay from the Lucas second hand stall but all the smoke come out of the wires.

How many s3 torsion bars have you taken off/refitted to come to that conclusion? It is wrong. The job can be done without the use of JD43.

Signmman - the s3 Strombergs do have temperature (heat) compensators but whether they are like the s2 ones I don't know. Each compensator has a nut which can be adjusted to alter the temp. at which the bi-metal strip operates. Each carb. has an idle Trim Screw but not on the Temp. Comps. Kevin - yes...

Bob for info. early S3 V12 did not have a thermo valve or the facility to fit one in the o/s manifold nor for that matter in the water rail.

I got fed up with trying to stop oil leaks from the original oil filter arrangement. I replaced it with the Rob Beere Racing version. No problem fitting it and no leaks since. Very satisfied.

All S3 V12s came out of the factory with electronic ignition, OPUS. If you wish to ask questions relative to the ignition system you need to say which system is now fitted. The OPUS has become unreliable with age and several different after market replacements have been/are available.
