Question: inner diameter rear brake calipers 1 3/4"
Hello chaps, I wonder what inner diameter the rear brake calipers / diameter are supposed to have, if given as 1 3/4". There are some on the market with grinded away casting numering after the "1" and stamped 3/4. But inner diameter of the caliper is said to be 47,5mm. But this is actually 1 7/8"......

Re: Passenger Door 1961
Hi Bob Maybe but its a very early car August/September build and from what info I can gather some early cars had the plain button and locked from the inside, just trying to find out from other early car owners if its correct. Thanks for your reply Steve Simply no! Plain Buttons are 100% non-origina...

Dealt with him once. And we exchanged about the whereabouts of his two restaurations 860022 and 850062, why he sold them and originality in general.
Very nice person! Definitely went far too early!

Looking for contact details for Chris Cole
Hi there, I bought something last winter from him and would need a second set. And despite being in contact over ebay, ebay doesn't let exchange contact information. Maybe someone knows him and might contact me through PM. I am happy to provide my details which kindly to be forwarded to him. Cheers ...

Sold to Central Europe for GBP 2000,- plus all the tax fees and custom duties. So ended up at close to 3300,- Euros.

Re: LJ225 Shelley Jack
Never seen an original one. I do have some without date, some with 61, but never a 59 one.... There are also some opinions, that this early jack was supplied with almost all OBL cars. But I tend to agree that it was only supplied to the first 100more or less cars. Moreover with all E-Type parts, you...

Re: WARNING - deception on ebay
Thank you for all your kind responses and Steve, thank you for the amendments. After a further communication where he boldly insisted on that I sent a wrong box spanner I never had and that he will let ebay sort out the issue, he for whatever reasons withdrew the claim. But again, he might be confus...

Re: WARNING - deception on ebay
Fair point, but honestly 2 hours after reception of my box spanner he filed the complaint with a picture of a different box spanner. How should that work?
Unwrapped and forgotten what he received???

Re: WARNING - deception on ebay
It just began, so no outcome yet. But surfing the internet there is not much you can do about it as seller as buyer are always "right". I am trying to contact ebay, but it is easier to walk on water than contacting them. Fair enough, they might not be available today, but I even though you don't get...

WARNING - deception on ebay
I just want to warn you about selling items over ebay to 2-dogg (M A Uniontown, PA).
I have sold a box spanner to him and he now claims to have received a totally different one of course of lower value and which I never had in my possession.
Just in case you come across him.....

Re: rear core plug replacement "in situ"
Dorman 568-011 - had to do the same. Take care when ordering over ebay.. Some selling one for the price of five. Angus saved my life in that regard and gave me that hint. But don't complain about spending 2 hours of trying to get bolts back in place for the rear engine/gearbox support bracket. I alm...

Why R 1623? Do you own R 1623 or have this body no tag?

Cheers

Re: S1 3.8 FHC
£30K seems less than market value for a promising project but market values are very silly at the moment. I've been struggling to find anything like that near that price. The auctioneers would spray it with dust and sell it for over £50K. If it’s a RHD 61 in that conditions it’s worth £70k+ If it r...

Re: S1 3.8 FHC
Barrie Thanks for the info, I was unaware of the change during flat floor production-every day is a school day as the saying goes :salute: Checking XKE data for engine numbers shows that this change occurred very close to my car's build date. I need to do a return visit soon to get the engine numbe...

It has the early carb linkage assembly and therewith is a Flatfloor if original. Even an early one....
If so, the car is worth more than 30k depending on matching no, VIN/car no., originality of other deteils and parts...

Even better - I agreed a sale outside ebay with him, when he still asked 449,- as starting price. I paid, he cancelled the auction but money came back the next day. No explanation, no response on my enquiry, nothing.
Condition is anyhow not the best. So I am not that sad....
