am looking at a jaguar etype roadster year 1966 , and its engine number starts with a 7D and ends -8 , any ideas if this is an etype engine please. thank u

hi I have a jaguar etype not with its original engine , which seams for sure a jaguar engine as it has its block marked jaguar 4.2 .

its engine number starts 7E11 xxx -9 .

Found no recoders of 4.2 engines starting with 11 after the 7E , and clues please

hi I have a 1962 jaguar etype with the 3.8 engine. Regarding its oil gauge, what was the factory fit , an electric gauge or wet gauge please. Thank you

hi I have an orginal moss xk150 gearbox, will this fit a 1966 4.2 etype ?

yes your right I did post in different sections, its because some are saying yes and some are saying no to take of engine and am totally confused.

Hi Jeff and welcome to the forum! Tell us more about your car, is this a new problem whilst driving regularly, or after having work done on the car? I second Steve‘s assessment and would first check clutch hydraulics and setting of the slave cylinder. Martin so l have been told it's a gearbox issue...

I have an issue with the gearbox , therefore I need to take it off. will it come off without taking of the engine? replies will be highly appreciated. thanks in advance

I have the same feeling, something wrong in gearbox , is there need to take off engine to take of gearbox?

Hi all help needed please. I have an S1 4.2 and after a small ride the clutch pedal only goes half way done , with the result it will be hard shifting gears . So I put it up on a car lift and noticed that the slave cylinder is hitting the gearbox. Picture attached. Any idea how I can solve this prob...

:helpsos: I have a 1963 3.8 etype with oil cooler . I have changed the engine oil ( unfortunately) I dont take notice the pressure before. anyway now with new oil , once I start and rev a bit the engine pressure goes up to a little bit more the 20 , while driving it goes just close between 20 and 30...

please help, after driving for around max 7 miles 1st / 2nd gears hard to put in, the reverse dont go in , I have to stop engine put in reverse and start engine . any ideas please.
