There is a resistor in the circuit, it services the oil pressure and the voltage. It is on the left towards the front of the pull down dash panel. If it is shorting then both will over read. I finally solved this issue by purchasing a 4 wire alternator from Raeelectric. Works fine. I uncapped the stowed wiring and reconnected them. It took a little thinking about but is not rocket science. The 3AW was toast, so I replaced it with a simple 6 volt relay, It cost me $9.00 plus $7.00 for a ...
