Re: I was wrong about repro spinners

I do see some resemblance to the E-type coupe (mostly in the long hood (bonnet)). Apparently, I was not the only one. Also reminded me a bit of the Rolls Royce Spectre. See the article in the attached link. https://jalopnik.com/gateway/the-haters-wont-admit-jaguars-new-type-00-concept-looks-1851711674

Parking brake trim

I am curious as to what sort of material was originally in the gap where the parking brake is located on a September 1965 build date coupe. Mine is gone but I seem to remember that it was a white plastic stiff hair like material. When I look at the various e-type books on my shelves, it looks to be ...

Re: The 5 Speed is here……..

Joey, in response to your email, I am over 50, happen to be, like you, from New York and have never been accused of having a poor sense of humor. I also actually do know some very fine Italian lawyers. Your reference to "All in the Family" may not ring a bell with some of the members of this forum w...

I too have been following this thread regularly. Regarding post 343, not sure what the reference to "The Jewish Lawyer!" was meant to convey. Perhaps you can explain. Apologies for the thread drift but I thought it worth calling out. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Re: Which 185 tyre: Dunlop or Pirelli or Michelin ?

I had the Vredesteins for 10 years (about 15,000 miles) and was happy with them. Recently replaced them with a new set due to age. The new tires are V rated.

And the pictures shown in the thread entitled “Sun Visor Restoration” started by Keithmac. If I only knew how to combine the 3 threads, I could have made it easier for all.

When I looked at my post, I realized that it was attached to a thread without pictures. Should have been attached to the thread entitled “Sun Visor Photo” started by Malc. Apologies for the confusion.

Re: Sun visor slipping d

My’66 coup’s sun visor (September 1965 manufacture date) does not want to stay up. It does not fall all the way down but generally hangs about an inch down from the headliner. I do not have an issue with the passenger side as I suspect it was not used as much. Unlike the visor pictured in this threa...

Re: Newspaper report E type in crash

Given the number of people purportedly in the E-Type and the fact that they appear to have had less serious injuries, is it possible that the newspaper got it wrong and that they were actually in a Jaguar XE? Hope they all have a full and speedy recovery.

Re: Museum of Modern Art Series 1 Jaguar

In post 48 of the “Adverts” section of Collectors Corner you can find an image of the original MOMA poster from the opening of the first show which included the blue E Type. I also have in my collection an original brochure from the show which I did attend many years before acquiring my FHC. MOMA la...

Re: Forum Downtime

I noticed that I hit "submit" too quickly and had mistakenly typed in "65 FHC" instead of "66" (and did not need to type in any description as it is already included in my signature). That being said for those of you who care, if any, the car has a birthday of September 17th, 1965 but I refer to it ...

Re: Heated Windshield

Thank you for all of the replies. Jaguar does make a windshield which does not include the heated elements. I am told that it is routinely included on cars sold in the warmer states such as Florida and Arizona. I called a few dealers located in warmer states on the theory that they may have performe...

Heated Windshield

Apologies that this post is not E-Type related but it is at least Jaguar related. I have a 2015 XF and need to replace the windshield due to a crack. The car originally came with a heated windshield which has small wires embedded in it. As I do not use the function and would much prefer a windshield...

Re: Carrying a fire extinguisher

I also carry an extinguisher in my car but I have often wondered whether it would be of any use for a fire in the engine compartment. How would one raise the bonnet if there was a fire under it? During the summer, the release catch is normally very hot after a drive. I cannot imagine trying to open ...

Toe board

Apologies. My name is David. I live in New York City and have a black 1966 (born September, 1965) coupe with a red interior. I will try to figure out how to change my signature so that I will no longer forget to sign my name.

Toe board

Great information. As everyone in my family is quite tall, I have little need for a toe board but, if I ever find one in the correct color (red), I may not be able to pass it up as it is a pretty neat accessory.
