Re: Trouble bleeding brakes

What does "little fluid comes out of the servo " mean? No fluid whatsoever should leak out of anywhere on the system Sounds like whoever re built and or replaced the braking system on your car has got something wrong Could be pipes in the wrong holes or worse Take it to a professional and have it ch...

Re: Series 1 rear brakes recurring failure.

Jaguar is a foreign owned company
What did people expect
They don't care one jot about the fan base
Just like football clubs and all the rest if the corporate world
We are little people

Re: Tyres advice please.

Well considering Michelin were the first company to produce radial tyres i very much doubt they sell poor quality modern versions of their classic range I would prefer to trust them than a modern copy from somewhere in the far East Each to their own I suppose And the xvs was designed originally as I...

Re: Brake upgrade

Agreed
Sounds like you need a brake overhaul
You shouldn't have to pump your brakes to make them work better

Ahh ok
Was just curious as the SNG ones were quite a lot of money and I am wondering now if I should have got mine modified instead

Re: FRONT UPPER BALL JOINT KITS

I did mine recently With kits from SNG You need to be very carefull as to the sockets in the wishbones not being damaged or gone oval Its not easy to see if they are damaged without carefully measuring them I did both of mine despite measuring them and carefully setting them up with the shims, both ...

Re: External door handles?

I would tend to agree with you I also couldn't find any series 2 2+2 cars with a seperate lock Although I couldn't find many early cars pictures Its really odd my car has them I suppose someone may have replaced the the door skins with pre series 2 ones and changed the handles and locks Seems strang...

Re: External door handles?

Yes I did see that However my car built 6th Feb 1969 appears to have had seperate locks to the handle The doors are original and march each other If you look at 1968 series 1.5 2+2s, some have seperate locks Over the years I guess a very large amount of cars will have had their doors or door skins r...

Re: External door handles?

My series 2 2+2 has seperate door locks
Not sure if it is meant to though, as I've seen a lot of series 2 cars that have combined handles and locks
Jaguar did confusing things

Re: Vacuum retard distributor

Why not just fit an Pertronix distributer or a 123 distributer?
Then you get electronic ignition as well
Saves drilling and modifications and you can just keep the old one with the car if you ever sell it
