Brake Line Fittings

I am installing a new brake line between the Master Cylinder and the 4-way brass junction at the front of my 1968 Series 1.5 e-type. Can someone tell me if the end of the brake line with the rounded convex end goes into the master cylinder or the junction? It is difficult to see in the hole since th...

Stromberg Tuning - Fuel Bowl Plug

Hi, my car has the emission version of the Stromberg carb that supposedly cannot be adjusted beyond the idle trim screw, fast idle screw and throttle trim screw. That having been said, it will only start when the fuel bowl plug is opened 1/4 turn or more. Does anyone know what the initial setting sh...

Re: E-Type Engine Number Mystery

Thanks very much for all your comments and suggestions. After much de-greasing I confirmed that the block is the same number as the number on the data plate. So, it is only the head that is not original. Perhaps it was changed when the 3 SU carbs were fitted in place of the 2 Strombergs. When I purc...

E-Type Engine Number Mystery

I have a 1968 LHD E-Type Series 1.5 OTS chassis No. 1E16140. The data plate says the engine No. is 7E-14741-9 but the engine No . on the cylinder head is VS 1630-9. The engine block is stamped 4.2 and the coolant expansion tank is on the firewall. It has 3 SU carbs and the water rails that look like...

Re: basic dimensions for front frame alignment

Bill,
Would you happen to know the size of the bolts that are used at the hinge to attach the bonnet to the lower valance?
I am referring to the bolts that go in from back to front.
Was playing with the shim adjustment a few months ago and somehow managed to lose the bolts.
Thanks for your help,
David

Boot Adjustment

The boot on my Series 1.5 OTS fit perfectly before I added the seal.
Now the front edge of the boot is much higher than the body.
Does anyone know if I need to remove the shims that go under the arm where the springs are located?
Or do I need to add shims?
Thanks,
David

Under Dash Hardura

Greetings,
Can someone please share a picture or diagram of how these hardura boards are placed on each side of the steering column?
