Re: Jaguar are losing the plot!

Quality does seem to be poorer these days especially Mercedes. They look good when new with all the bells and whistles, but the high quality build and materials used on the 190e series for instance is not used today. I still miss my old 190e and if I can find a really nice one then I would be tempted.

Re: Moving on. Bike resto

That’s a cool Guzzi Paul. There’s something about the earlier Italian bikes. I had a Laverda SF2 many years ago, another one I regret selling.

Re: Reproduction or reissue....

The cover looks very much like a Classic Additions product. Their quality of product is second to none and I would certainly recommend them if you are in the market for a cover.

I had tubeless on my Morgan Plus 8 with no issues. Just feel assured by the person fitting the tyres though.

Re: Up or down, or.....

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Back in the 80’s and 90’s when I was more involved in the classic motorcycling scene, we used to discuss the future of early flat tank bikes and who will buy them in the future when the old guard pass on. What will be their value? but these early bikes still command g...

Re: SNG Barratt User Group

Thank you Julian. I have had replacements and your sales team were first class in responding to my email.
You state that it’s probably been dropped on the point of the grease nipple but on close inspection there is minimal thread cut which has caused the issue. Regards, Paul.

Re: car lift

Have any forum member used this lift. It gets very good reviews from the Morgan fraternity and other classic car enthusiasts but is it suitable for an E-Type?

Re: SNG Barratt User Group

Thank you Steve. I have emailed SNG which I hope they will take note. The new track rod ends have 6mm threaded grease nipples and Sod’s law I have a box of imperial sizes. My post was only to highlight the facts. I’ll be happy if they send me a new nipple.

Re: SNG Barratt User Group

Just received a pair of Track Rod Ends (C25447U). The quality of the main component is excellent but as for the grease nipple which I have shown in the photograph is appalling quality. It has hardly any thread in the body of the nipple and it just pulled out. This is only a minor point but it needs t...

Re: Rear Wood Jacking Spreder

Thank you all for your great responses. Dave, I had previously seen your post for the spreader and will look at that as a design guide as the S2 exhaust on my car is a slightly larger bore.
Stay safe, Paul.

Rear Wood Jacking Spreder

Finding another useful post regarding a front end wood spreader to fit under the picture frame to jack the car up safely and without damage, I have made up one from a nice pice of hardwood and it works a treat. I want to make an equivalent spreader for the rear end on my S2 FHC to lift under the dif...

Re: £300K Series 3 anyone ?

I watched the programme Vintage Voltage recently and an owner paid between £40K-£50K to restore and convert an MG Midget to battery motor. The driving range was about 120 miles. It was a soulless interpretation IMO.
