Ok thanks I had the heater control set to hot so would have drained the whole system. I'll try to top up from the radiator head

Thanks TOM very helpful. I don't think I drained the heater matrix if there is a separate procedure to do this? For changing the coolant the manual directed me to drain from the two taps one at the bottom of the radiator and other on the side of engine block..

Please can I have advice on how best go about replacing both sides of my bulk head to sill closing panels as they have rust coming through. The front frame bolts through this panel each side which makes things tricky!.

Thank you for your advice. I've read on other car forums that once the boots are perished and there has been ingress of dirt it could compromise the joint? There is no play in the ball joint. I'm OK to follow the MOT garage advice but thought I'd refer it to the specialists first! Regards :)
