Re: New Reproduction Parts for E-Type's

From Julian: "All of the following are smaller items and were generally not available previously – in the case of the oil pipe strut, this was unavailable for many years. Mostly not complicated but all developed in house in response to customer demand/feedback." Pipe Clips (all for v12 cars): C34864...

Re: SC Parts come up trumps!.......after waiting over 4 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Their policy used to be that in the event of parts not being available or wrong they would only give a credit against a future purchase rather than a refund.

Re: Early Spark Plug Wire - Rubberised Cloth

Jaguar used 'Lucas Cables' black rubber HT cables on the E-Type. Braided cable was used on vintage cars but with the introduction of high energy coils they moved to rubber. This was because the cotton braid attracted moisture resulting in arcing and misfires. If you car has cotton braided cable then...

As far as I know the majority of the hood straps were green from the Factory.

Re: louvered bonnet

You have the wrong bonnet! Welded louvres were fitted to cars up to 875385. Ideally you need to swap the bonnet for a later one. Contact Angus Moss 01462 686682 as he can probably arrange a swap to the correct bonnet as I think he has one. You really ought to get it right otherwise someone may think...

Re: Jaguar are losing the plot!

When I read about lawyers circling and making a big fuss over cease and desist orders it only means one thing - they are preparing the company for a sale. They are building up the value of any IP and creating the aura of a bullish company.

Not sure Porter has his facts right as if someone produces original artwork they are free to profit from it, regardless of subject.

Re: Tyres advice please.

I have had XVS on my OTS for years and they are superb, but expensive. I run that car with 30/35 psi f/r and I could not understand why the FHC with the Dunlop's has such poor handling. I was using 32/32psi with the Dunlop's but after a conversation with Dougal he said I should be using 38/38psi and...

Looks like you got some factory rejects as the thread should go all the way down and that is likely the problem. Unfortunately they are scrap

Re: Indicator /park light lenses

There is no known solvent for the glue (Marek tried when he was making moulds of the originals) however it does become brittle with age so tapping the lens on a table might cause them to separate (mine did). They are joined together with a tongue and groove which makes cutting them difficult. Retain...
