Re: Colour choice

There were only 1091 3.8 cars originally painted black with either beige, black or red interiors. Of those 617 cars had black paint with red interior - about 7% of total production. Divide those numbers by two for an FHC - so quite rare! Despite what you have been told red cars tend to be shunned by...

Re: Heater fan motor

The date of the change is not known as the Jaguar part number stayed the same throughout S1 production. The change in casing was an AC-Delco decision and even their part number remained the same apart from a sub number - L1 vs C5 and I can find no documentation relating to it in either companies doc...

Are you following Mike Cassidy's LHD to RHD conversion guides as I suggested?

Coolcat version is accurate and reliable as it is a Mitsubishi sensor in a bespoke housing. If it does fail (unlikely) replacements are easy to source.

Re: Rear registration plates

Lots of views on changing (improving?) the rear of the S2 - S1 resonators, oblong number plate, deleting external reversing lights by using integrated ones and removing chrome/stainless steel trim.

Many suggestions here: viewtopic.php?p=22418#p22418

Re: Scam ?

Lots of part suppliers ask for reg numbers usually to ensure they are supplying the correct part. Mostly done for modern cars but I guess bulbs are generic items. Nothing to worry about because if anyone wants VIN's and reg numbers XKEdata has hundreds to choose from.

Re: Boot boards for 3.8 fhc

I seem to recall the widths are different for the 3.8 - I think Martin Robey list them by Stu's part numbers. Worth phoning to ensure you get the right ones. Or make your own - Measurements: https://i.imgur.com/36PfoUC.jpg For comparison here are the S2 boards: https://i.imgur.com/s1ef6wk.jpg https:...

The part numbers changed for the S1 4.2 cars so the 3.8 boards are different.

Re: HOPEFULLY TUESDAY WILL BE THE END OF THE ELECTRIC CAR.....

The supply vs demand equation says the opposite. When Russia reduced the supply of gas the cost rocketed but now supply has increased from other sources the cost is dropping rapidly. With oil the infrastructure is all there and cost is driven by demand. If that drops they will try and stimulate dema...

Rubber will be conductive if sufficient carbon is added to the mix. Almost all rubber contains carbon but for applications requiring insulation the amount is tiny. Looks like whoever made that rubber connector did not specify or enquire how much carbon was added! Return it or try another source of s...
