fuel tank - Carbon canister on series 3 E type ??
Hello, we are about to refit the fuel tank and associated pipes, vents etc. We have the original carbon canister and were pondering the following: 1/ is it necessary and what would the consequence be if we simply left it out of the circuit and vent to atmosphere rather than through the canister? Has...

Re: Rear vented discs/ calipers - differential clash?
Thanks very much for the input chaps. I think ww should go with the new calipers ( old ones look fairly shot) and besides we have paid for them now.. Only question remains - are we safe to nibble a bit off the differential housing rib ? probably need about 3-4mm off one side - either that or grind a...

Rear vented discs/ calipers - differential clash?
Has anyone upgraded to vented discs and matching calipers on the inboard rear location. Trying to fit up and finding the caliper can't be centralised over the disc without spacing it away from the diff flange. This then makes it clash with a strengthening rib on one side of the diff housing. I am co...

Thanks for the input ! it seems very close to fitting in - however there is a bracket on the frame tube - only small but just in the wrong place to allow it to go in easily. However emboldened by your comments and more tea - will have another go.. Cheers

Don't want to remove the frame. Do you disassemble the servo - or there another way .. Engine is in already - no heater in...

Re: Quick questions about S3 IRS rebuild
Thank you all for your replies. We managed to use a dial gauge and pre-assembled the bearings measured the free play and did the calcs. We await the correct shims now,. I expect as you suggest its worth checking after some miles. We did things really fastidiously - but obviously there is always room...
