Mechanic recommendation

Can someone recommend a mechanic in North London/Herts - still not had alternator issue sorted/replaced and need to get done if its going to get used this summer, chaps I normally use just too busy for a 'simple' job it seems.

BodyShop Recommendations please Hertfordshire

Good dead of going up to our local Cricket Club today to offer pre-clean up services turned into some idiot reversing into my car! I'm guessing with element of repair work before, the front bumper, radiator cover, bottom panel all just get replaced or do insurers insist on repair? metalwork is bent,...

Brakes

Had an issue this weekend after initial braking on a firm pedal it goes very soft pretty quickly and nearly to floor then brakes more or less release!

Is this master cylinder, air or another common issue?

S U Carb Conversion

May be a daft question - have tried searching on here but cant see much info strangely - if I wish to replace Strombergs with SU's on my SIII V12 is there a better (cheaper!) place than buying from Burlen? Does anyone have experience of buying a refurbed set rather than brand new if a few quid can b...

Peter, Been searching for info on SU's need to rip my Strombergs off, should never have refurbed them - or more to the point a certain person who will remain nameless only refurbed 3 of them! I have someone who can fit no problem but wondering best place to either purchase a totally refurbed set or ...

Reading an email Ive just received looks like CMC stretched the OTS as it had front end damage in a shunt and then had a spare rear end anyway. Goodness knows what it all cost but safe to say he could have had FHC for what the trailer cost I bet!

Yes - but lets face it whoever did this didnt carry out the project to go camping I guess!!! Also it would have obscured the OTS lines :)

Understand but seem to be several comments on the chroming not lasting. Agree if prepd properly considering the car isn't exposured to cold, salt and rain where poss chrome should be first choice. On basis I will need new brackets, window rubbers and trim resetting this is a job to tie in with paiti...

Is there an arguement for using some imported Stainless Steel overriders/bumper sections instead or is that a daft move?

I need to do exactly the same excercise and would love to have a sensible resolve. Stainless should last longer or I guess depends on quality?

I had the same issue when Simon Hemsley rebuild my carbs about a year ago and I'm still having issues!! I regret not just swapping for SU's which are easier to set up. We found 3 seal kits and the 4th one we made do and I'm not convinced the strip down and rebuild/clean was 100% still have fueling i...

These cars need driving, mines been used 3 times yesterday for various journeys - running kids around and then over to freinds in eve. I just don't see the point in owning a car and not using it - I didn't want a concours car for that reason so it could be used. Mechanically I'll spend whatever is n...

And I guess logically it will also affect the spares lines, auto jumble, club days, club rides as these 'mega' buyers won't wish to participate but have a car totally restored by someone else and have it in a fancy car showroom on their estates rather than use them like 80% of owners do regularly. W...
