Have been through the su carb setup and the next step is to run the engine!
Needles are original and correctly stamped um.
Have operated the throttle linkage from the carb end and can see butterfly valves opening and closing but there is no change at all.

Hi, sorry for giving out the incorrect information. Didn't mean to upset anyone. The bell housing is a 3.8. Conclusion
Found I definitely have a series 1 bell housing and flywheel and starter motor are definitely series 2. After lots of technical research found the starter motor is too far away from the flywheel by 4mm therefore the teeth only engage into each other by about 1mm. I have found a fix for this problem ...
