Was running fine earlier this year, its turning over but just not firing now. I'll check on the other bits!

Hi all, My 61 OBL car won't start. The ignition light is on, I've checked for a spark and can't see one. How can I check the coil or if one of distributer leads is faulty? Battery and fuel are fine. Had it for three years and never had a problem. I would really appreciate any advice. Many thanks, Matt
