Many thanks for such a full Resposne. One quick follow-on question if I may: did you do the whole EORI number and ATaR application before driving back from the EU (France in this case) or can this be done immediately once back in the UK?

Importing a Series 1 2+2 from France
I am purchasing a 1967 late Series 1 2+2 from a dealer in France. Does anyone have any knowledge of the paperwork involved and how to re-register the vehicle in the UK? I could use a car importer, but the current lead times are 6/8 weeks, whereas the dealer has a transporter who can manage the cross...
