Re: Carburetor Set Up

As mentioned above it is not a difficult process just requires a little patience. I have just rebuilt my carbs and spent time ensuring the throttle and choke linkages were set correctly and the engine started first time and only required some minor adjustments. Also make sure the spindle shafts have...

Re: series 2 2+2 factory fit power steering

Hi Ron, With PAS fitted you run 3 belts, the PAS pump is run off the crankshaft using an additional pulley bolted to the existing pulley. The hose from the rear of the pump goes to the outer connection (the one marked 2-68 in the photo) and is 1" (outside dimension) hose, these pics may help. Simon ...

Re: THE GREAT DRIVE BELT MYSTERY - AGAIN

Hi Nigel, I too have a 2+2 with PAS, when I replaced the belts I spoke with the guys at SNG Barratt who supplied the correct ones, must say fitting the crank to water pump belt was a pig to fit, others have had the same problem. Simon

Re: series 2 2+2 factory fit power steering

Thanks, had the engine out couple of years ago for a rebuild and at the same time tidied everything up and fitted new modern fans, disappointed with the exhaust manifolds as the coating is cracking and falling off, otherwise very pleased.

I stand corrected, on further inspection it is fabricated and welded steel.

Re: series 2 2+2 factory fit power steering

The bracket is unique to S2 cars with PAS and mounts the PAS pump and alternaor. From memory it is a cast unit and I believe is not longer available. You can see it in the pictures. Re: Top Radiator Hose

Final got round to replacing the top hose and overflow pipe and all now appears OK. As can be seen from the photos the overflow pipe was badly crimped and the top hose deformed. Thanks for all the help. https://i.postimg.cc/h4ZfH511/20191016-120050-1.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/mrTLcYSr/20191016-120216...

Re: Top Radiator Hose

Checked everything, have 7lb cap and plain cap, the hose has not sprung back so will be replacing. The only thing I have found is the overflow pipe from the expansion tank is crimped and as result would be severely restricting the flow, I will be replacing this and the caps. Also the expansion tank ...

Re: Top Radiator Hose

Thanks for the reply, to my knowledge the caps are correct, but I am going to change them when I replace the top hose and will be checking over the cooling system, but it's all relatively new with a new rad 4 months ago.

Top Radiator Hose

Just done my usual daily checks of fluids and noticed that the top radiator hose has collapsed, the picture does not show the problem too well but it is now nearly flat. I have had no over heating issues and the system is full of coolant. Has anyone come across this before, or is it just a failure o...

Re: Rear wishbone seat damage

Hi all,

Thanks for your replies.

Angus - are these bushes available 'off the shelf' and as over sized or would they have to be custom made?
Robbie - please let me know the details and what you want for them.

Many thanks

Rear wishbone seat damage

Hi, I am in the process rebuilding the IRS and diff and have the unit out of the car and dismantled. Most parts are not too bad, the diff is being sent off for rebuild, however the rear inner wishbone bearing seats are damaged on both wishbones, the photo shows the damage. My question is what can be...
