The car doesn't need any restoration at all.

Hi My Dad would like to know if anybody has fitted a xj6 gearbox with overdrive to a series 1 1967 E type and was it a good move and what did it entail to do that mod. Cheers! My Dad has just bought a 1967 series 1 2+2, and he's finding it very difficult to get into reverse, I couldn't get it into reverse at all. Just wondering if anyone could give some advice on this?
