I would think by cutting the crossmember as shown and then replacing it by inverting the metal , plus adding the two pcs of metal to seal the mouse holes would make the crossmember stronger

Agree with changing to a 3:07 rear differential. The car became completely different, before with the stock 3:51’s on my 1969 S2 1 st gear was too short. With the 3:07’s the car became a pleasure in all 4 gears. Both up shifting and downshifting. I can imagine what a 5 speed will do goin tease its r...
