Re: Fuel Tank
Hi Phil Picking up on what Marek said it sounds like your fuel gauge is under reading the amount of fuel in the tank. You could try checking the earth on the voltage regulator which sits behind the drop down instrument panel LHS especially if your water temperature gauge is over/under reading then t...

Re: S3 V12 2+2 1973 rear end wiring/trim
Hi Joe
Thanks for the photo which is fantastic.
I have the two wires for the earth as shown in your photo and these are the only wires that should be showing.
The photo also helps with regard to the finishing of the vinyl
Really very much appreciated

Re: S3 V12 2+2 1973 rear end wiring/trim
Hi Steve Many thanks for responding and confirming that these wires should not be showing. I just found an earlier post showing the routing of the wires which looks like removing the rear lights and number plate and using a fish tape to pull them through the cavity. https://forum.etypeuk.com/viewtop...

S3 V12 2+2 1973 rear end wiring/trim
Hi Guys Can anybody confirm whether the wiring that serves the rear end (ie) brake light/reversing/lights etc should be showing in the boot area (See photo) I thought that this all disappeared in the void-aperture/behind that area. Also has anybody got a photo of where the trim finishes in the same ...

Re: Oil leak automatic gearbox
Hi Guys Just wanted to report back and make a confession. I purchased the duraprene gasket from SC parts and it is indeed bulkier than the cork gaskets but not cheap - I purchased cork gaskets as backup which are cheap. (Just a note the cork gaskets being supplied these days are dual BW8/BW12 so hav...

Re: Oil leak automatic gearbox
Hi Guys Thank very much for responding Kashma77 - I don't think it is the kick down switch is leaking. I have felt all around and above the sump pan and can see no signs of any fluid running down, however in light of what Mark said I will investigate that again. The box was recently rebuilt so I wou...

Air Cleaner Plumbing S3 V12
Hi Chaps I apologise in advance as this is a well trodden subject and is different with the export cars but I have searched through the topics but can't find my answer. My car is a June 1973 Build UK spec S3 V12 Auto 2+2 (Engine 7S11196SA/Chassis IS51856BW) pretty much unmolested at the time when I ...

Re: Best place for data plate stamping UK
I used minimail.co.uk to stamp my S3 plate.
I supplied the plate and they charged me £35.00 including return postage back in 2015 and was happy with the result.
Hope this helps

Re: Series 3 E-type Originality Question
Hi Ellecari I have a picture of my 73 2+2 which is being restored and repainted. The photo was taken back in 2015. As you can see on the passenger side the chassis number (Circled) has been blanked and the rest painted. I have owned the car since it was 3 years old and there has been no damage/paint...

Re: S3 wiring loom main bulkhead grommet
Hi Drewpy
The part number is C30670.
SNG Show its for the V12E £73.82 Inc Vat Special Order
David Manners show it for the XJ12 £60.00 Inc Vat special order
(As to the quality or availability that remains to be seen)
You could try Hutsons/M&C Wilkinson as they may know where to get it
Good Luck

Hi Peter
I bought a set from SNG Barratt part number C33960/3 £11.76 in stock inc VAT
I bought mine in 2011 and they were pretty good quality so probably not worth trying to make them for that sort of money
Cheers

Re: Series 3 power steering noise (video inside)
Hi ljbp To be honest I couldn't pickup the noise from the video so not sure what it is. I used to get the squealing noise from the power steering when on full lock standing still. Eventually found out it was the belt slipping. You can easily eliminate this by wetting the belt and trying it again, at...
