washer assembly

I was cleaning up my car under bonnet. I removed washer bottle to clean around it. I noticed that the date code is 10 of 62. My car is a 64. I'm feeling a little generous today. I would be willing to trade someone like for like if they need a 10/62 date to finish out a numbers matching restoration. ...

Re: Rain?

I actually removed my wiper arms from my car. Don't need em, and car looks better without them. I do have rainx on windshield for bugs and emergency use.

Rain?

So, Do you drive your cars in the rain? I don't, and I won't. Now don't get me wrong here. My car is a driver, not a garage queen. But it is a very nice condition driver. It still gets lots of attention at shows and cruise in's I will drive it anywhere. I raced it for yrs, and wooped the crap out of...

reuniting Id Plate

I have started going thru boxes of parts I got when I bought my car 40 yrs ago. I found a ID plate, which I believe to be the original. I have no idea how previous owner got it. The car # 1E14091...body no.4e5805..I found it on XKE data, but very old post.. I'm in wi. USA. So at some point it was he...

Re: Car shows

On tuesday nites from 4-9pm, we have a car show. they have bands, or dj's. We get over 100 cars. We get everything from old trucks t...

Car shows

Just wondering how many car shows you guys go to. I'm lucky we have a ton of shows and cruise nites within 40 mile radius of my home. This last summer, I went to over 40 events. I'm retired, so I have lots of time now. some are small, 40 cars most are 100-300 cars. One event was 1100 cars. What abou...

Re: New member from Wisconsin, USA

Hi Jim and welcome. A very interesting and exciting forty years of problem free ownership, can't wait to see the photos of your collection especially the E. You must have done an excellent job of restoration back in 1983 for the car to serve you so well problem free especially with that original cr...

Re: New member from Wisconsin, USA

There were different vintage events. In july it used to be called the chicago Historic races. And another one was VSCDA vintage events. It was a lot of fun. I read back what i wrote about my car, Dang, if I didn't live it myself, I don't think I would believe it. When I think about it, I can't belie...

Same for rear end. as is as when I bought it 40 yrs ago. I ran the hell out of it all these yrs, And never had engine apart again. Until 2...

Hi everyone. My name is Jim. I own a 64 3.8 xke. I bought it when i was 23 yrs old and restored it right away. I used it as a driver, and to go to local shows. Then in 1990, I decided I wanted to go road racing. So I put a roll bar in it and safety equipment, and went vintage road course racing. My ...
