Re: Replacing the rubber A post door seals
I keep a stock of old bank/id/credit cards for jobs like this. You can use them for a variety of tasks where a non scratch or flexible tool is needed. They're free too. I like that

Re: S3 speakers
Try a general search on Google or ebay. There's a number of speaker grills available that look very similar to the ones you want. They're cheap too.

Re: Dissolving rust on fresh air vent inlets
Have you tried electrolytic rust removal? I've not used it myself but it comes highly recommended on other forums.

Re: GPK 93J owner
Thanks, I've read that post. In fact, I started it.
After much searching, I've got, what I'm told, is an E Type towbar. A look at a car that's got/had one would help me understand the instalation.

According to AI, your rod should be 1 7/8" or 47.6mm. The one on the left looks like a SU damper.

Re: Do I have an oil pressure issue
You could try an Accusump. It stores oil under pressure and releases it into the engine on startup. I've never used one but the theory is good and folks who have them support that. They're probably a good idea especially on engines that sit for a long time.

Re: Stripped sump plug thread
This is a bit late but a common repair for this in the 70's was to screw in a taper BSP plug with ptfe tape. I've never gone that route myself having needed to. That guarantees my sump plug will strip at the next oil change.

Re: Distorted sump
Well since no one else has replied here's my 2P worth. You say the problem area is 3mm high. Is that measured at the edge of the sump? If so, 3mm there = 1.5mm in the middle. That's still not acceptable of course. Is the oil cooler the original one? Have you put a straight edge across the sump? I'm ...
