Re: Elusive Inner door trim.

Yep, definitely Titanfast, and certainly an S2 feature. Whether it was fitted to all S2s I don't know, but mine had it originally, and it got left off during the restoration. I've got a length of it from Woolies that I keep meaning to get round to fitting some day (probably held back by the fact tha...

Re: London Concours 2021

Funnily enough, as that's Horseguards, there are signs up expressly telling you not to park there. So I pulled up behind an armed response vehicle, hopped out and tapped on the window (I realise that in a lot of countries doing that would probably be your last ever action on this planet  ), a...

Re: London Concours 2021

You're both too kind  As a footnote, come the Friday morning, when it was time to take the car home, I of course found myself in the rather bizarre position of having to pay our beloved Mayor for the privilege of taking the car out of 'his' city :scratchheadyellow: Naturally, imbued with a se...

London Concours 2021

Been meaning to post up about this for a little while now  Back in June I was privileged to park the old girl in a line-up honouring the E-type's 60th birthday at the London Concours, held across three rare hot and sunny days at the Honourable Artillery Company in the City. The organisers want...

Re: Silverstone Classic

Yes the weather followed a pattern over the three days-sunny in the morning/afternoon and rain in the evening. I did the Sunday. Soaked the skin and chilled to the core all morning - which in a way marked an improvement on 2019 when we were soaked to the skin and frozen to the core all morning. May...

Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it, we’ve all got to go sometime..”
I dunno - I was really drunk at the time....

Generally speaking it's inadvisable to drive - or attempt pretty much anything else - after immersing yourself in The Floyd for a couple of hours.....

London Concours

Good afternoon, Series 3 owners. The London Concours has just posted up that they are looking for a Series 3 Fixed Head to join them on their 60 Years of E-types celebration stand in a few weeks time: https://twitter.com/LondonConcours/status/1397492128155062277 Your chance to have your car in a sel...

See here:

We could slightly freak them out by parking a fleet of E-types outside.....

Re: Pink Floyd

I have got tickets to go see Pink Floyd live in concert in November!

Given that the tickets only cost £20 and the venue is a village hall in Hampshire, I fear they may not be the Pink Floyd.......

Thanks andrew and SimonP (I am sorry for using your handle)
No problem. If you're a Simon P and you like E-types then that's a good thing to be in my book

Also, don't worry - if you're even vaguely mechanical people will soon figure out that it's you posting, not me!

Do what my Dad did back in 1969 and upgrade your Series 1 to a Series 2

Re: Selling items to someone in the EU

Sounds very similar to the book that I carefully packaged and sent, customs forms included, to my old school mate in Spain for his birthday in January, that is still supposedly "in transit" (although despite its tracking references, no one knows quite where) some two months later.......

Re: Series 2 aesthetics

Indeed - don't blame Joe, he was simply repeating my original post. I can live with Jeff referring to my rear end as butt ugly - he's been doing so since 2016, and it didn't get to me then and it's not getting to me now. I am also happy to withdraw my like-for-like remark about his unique wheels. Si...

Re: Series 2 aesthetics

I wouldn't have bought the S2 in the first place if the rear end of the car actually offended me Don't worry - Jeff's had a hang-up about the S2 rear end (and anyone who cares to leaves it untouched) for years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Re: Coupe to Roadster DVLA Registration

Numbers aside there is the potential to get into an engineering/safety battle with the DVLA resulting in your not being able to road register your car. And that's before JLR's copyright lawyers get wind of it! :banghead: [Simon - that's a joke by the way (or at least, I hope it is.... :fingerscross...
