Re: New Reproduction Parts for E-Type's

New product from SNGB: Hi David, Hope all is well. Quite a significant new product for us is the V12 exhaust manifolds which we have retooled from scratch using modern technology and we are really pleased with the results. These were a product we originally made probably 25 years ago and the tooling...

Re: Scissor Jack colour

Jaguar used BS-381c colours as they were an industry standard. See if one of trhem matches your jack: https://www.e-paint.co.uk/BS381-Colour-chart.asp

Bear in mind the colours might be different on your screen so best to get hold of a printed chart if you are unsure.

Re: Hardura what is it

Felt is a textile material that is produced by matting, condensing and pressing fibers together. Felt can be made of natural fibers such as wool or animal fur, or from synthetic fibers such as petroleum-based acrylic or acrylonitrile or wood pulp-based rayon. Blended fibers are also common.Felt has...

Re: Hardura what is it

From our Factory Fit thread: "Hardura is the registered trademark of an embossed PVC coated felt with bound edges used to cover areas in vehicles prone to wear and economise on the cost of carpeting. It was manufactured by Hardura Ltd who were established in 1948 at St Lawrence Mill, Mill Street, Gr...

You need the top bracket as well! The Halfords one fits perfectly.

Re: Battery size

When searching for a replacement battery take the hold down bracket with you as sizes vary even though they are all supposed to be DIN 56011 spec size - 236 x 178 x 182mm (LWH). The Halfords HBO30 is a good fit and a decent price. More info in this thread: http://forum.etypeuk.com/viewtopic.php?p=13...

Re: Optional Item: Passenger foot rest

Yes, a simple flat board made of thick ply with hradura on one side. Wedges in place but my wife found it tended to twist position making one leg longer than the other causing hip discomfort. Easy fix is to add a triangular piece of wood to the rea as a 'foot'. I used a hinge to atach it so it could...

Re: Series 2 aesthetics

I second what Steve has said. This seems to have kicked off because someone (Joes66) did not like the Mini-Lite wheels on Jeff's car and he (probably rightly) took umbrage and fired off a sharp reply (probably wrongly) to a wholly innocent Malcolm. So - Joes66 opinionated post has been deleted and J...

Re: New Reproduction Parts for E-Type's

Just received this from Forum member Grischa: "As the E-Type under dash vents BD25733 / BD25734 are no langer availlable I went to a professional CAD engineering company who made a complete CAD data file of the part. This was sent to a professional 3D printing company and they produced brand new par...

Re: Door Handles

Agree with Bill. I used to restore vintage Jukeboxes and they used a lot of nickel or chrome plated parts which were a nightmare to restore. The castings used pot metal which, when new, had a smooth skin but the insides were like an Aero chocolate bar - full of bubbles. De-chroming was easy but tryi...

Tadek

Have you checked the Forum KB? I have done my best to list as many period radio's as possible so you may find what you are looking for there. Certainly there is a 622 version there (last post).

Brilliant work Phil. The whole project makes research a lot easier and being able to search through the bulletin database is fascinating and quick.
