Re: Synthetic and semi synthetic; help please?

Follow the manufacturers instructions to the letter. For our 993, Porsche specify Mobil 1 and I have only once deviated from that at the suggestion of a well known specialist based on cost. The result was an odd gurgling noise from the engine until it fully warmed up. Sounded like a cross between se...

Re: Refubrishing series I seats

The gear lever gaiter on the later 4.2 cars was made of synthetic Ambla. Jaguar used Connolly Vaumol leather for the seats on all E-Type's. http://i.imgur.com/7ugutmE.jpg - Vaumol was patented by Connolly in 1939 - The base colour and clear top coat were cellulose and sprayed on - it is not through ...

Re: High beam problem

Refit the filament H4 bulbs and see if they work as intended. Matter of problem finding step by step. If the Halogen's work OK you know it is an LED problem and wiring is OK.

Yes, and we found it first without any EU assistance or money  Interestingly I was reading this morning that we have so far administered over one million doses of the vaccine compared to 591 doses by France and 200,000 by Germany. It seems Angela Merkel refused to allow Germany, France and It...

Re: Refubrishing series I seats

Very difficult to do as the Vaumol leather hardens over time and will crack when you try to stretch it. Also the leather was trimmed after being attached to the frame so you have next to no way of holding/stretching it into place. Connolly have started producing Vaumol again so that is your best pat...

Re: Original Fabric Gaskets - Pedal box and Bonnet Catch

I believe the gaskets were produced by Stephens Gaskets Ltd, an associated company of Stephens Belting Co, 94 Snow Hill, Birmingham. The latter also owned Thor Hammers and as Mich says, the gaskets were made from the similar materials as the belts. Stephens Gaskets Ltd are still in operation but no ...

Cornish Brie was excellent partnered with a méthode champenoise sparkling rose produced at a vineyard a couple of miles from me in Lambley.
