I would like to see the MOT continued even though i look after my car myself.I treat it a bit like a double check with a fresh pair off eyes and to check brakes and hand brake are working at there best.I think insurance companies might want some kind of test of road worthiness in the future? perhaps...

I did it on my 63 car, the clevis came out with pedal box in place.Instead of using a split pin I used an R clip much easier.

Sorry to have confused things with my problem but its now fixed. It turns out it was the regulator box.I found this on the 123 web site. It looks like my engine misfires after a few kilometers driving what can i do. In some cases a very unstable boardnet voltage can cause misfire.The 123 ignition is...

I used silicon resistor leads as recommended by 123 and the original lucas DLB105 gave no problems for 9 years.

I think its ignition based, on the 123 the cap and rotor are bosch items and used genuine parts.I think it could be the dizzy itself but dont know how to test it and havent got a spare.

I have changed plugs plug caps leads rotor arm and dizzy cap and coil.

I am having very similar problems to you with my 3.8 .Only started a few weeks ago with a slight miss,then to terrible misfire,I have a123 dizzy and have changed rotor arm cap leads plug caps and plugs,original coil was a lucas DLB105 sports coil changed to an NGK1079 still same problem would run ok...

Hi, its serviced every year, 123 distributor only needs cap and rotor arm replacing every 40000 km. Carbs rebuilt in the last 15000 miles, tried using choke to see if it made difference to hesitation no difference.

Thanks for the reply,I set the plugs to 25 thou and also checked fuel filter, clean as a whistle.

I have a hesitation when my car pulls between 1500 and 2250 revs, occasionally. My car is a 3.8 with a 123 distributor and standard air filter. It looks to me that they are plating the gold rather than solid. The growlers are strung up for plating in jaguars blurb.
