I also had the incorrect body number scored out on the back of my lhd dashboard, with the correct number added. The tailgate had the correct number as per the tag and vin plate.

Re: 1963 rear diff oil, which type?
When Alan Slawson rebuilt my powerlok diff, he included the following info re oil: Warning Note – Castrol ‘Axle Z90’ limited slip oil or quality equivalent oil to be used for the LSD unit. Synthetic or semi-synthetic oils do not work in these units and MUST not be used He supplied the Z90 oil for th...

Re: Electric failure
Electrical gremlins can be frustrating at the best of times, but adding potentially faulty new parts into the mix just makes diagnosis even harder. Have you contacted the supplier with your findings? Any supplier worth their salt should take a look at their product and check it out. It may a faulty ...

This is a link to Skinner’s vinyl colour range, there are various shades with the word ‘tan’ in it! https://john-skinner.co.uk/materials-and-colours/vinyl/
Biscuit is a lighter colour than the original Jaguar tan.

Hi
I ordered a complete trim kit from Aldridges and that trim panel came with it. Most will supply them individually.

Re: Best type of exterior mirrors
I’ve had the Fosseway mirrors for a couple of years and apart from a little bit of grinding work on one small section of the mounting brackets to get a perfect fit, they have been solid. https://i.postimg.cc/yx3Krt7Z/31-B273-B9-BCB5-43-B6-A71-A-F226-C13-C0-D38.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/FRBmpNXv/BD42-...

Re: Found a treasure
Good find. The horn push is very restorable - I did mine and it looks really good. Even if the Bakelite looks faded, you can bring it back to life using India ink and careful polishing. Even cracks and chips can be sorted out.

Re: Original brake light switch?
I have looked into an led high-level brake light but haven’t found anything that I’m happy with. The reverse light is a neat option but not something I’ll be adding.

Re: Original brake light switch?
The bracket has been fabricated, painted and installed with the mechanical switch. I managed to find the wiring I had previously installed (neatly tucked away and labelled behind the steering column) and all connected up and tested. That should prevent a recurrence of no brake lights and also reduce...

“Sunglasses, dusters, wife's lipstick, paracetamol ...”
That stuff goes in the glove compartment, dusters etc in the cubby space behind the seats. The use I get from having two of the four speakers nearer ‘ear height’ far outweighs any use I might have made of the cubby space.

Re: The 5 Speed is here……..
I fitted speakers into the cubby holes as well, as part of my hidden Bluetooth amp setup. I purchased some stainless steel mesh from Amazon to cover them, to match the speaker grills in the centre console. You can only see the speakers if you shine a light/flash on them. https://i.postimg.cc/y8YKQ4R...

Did you specify a particular pressure cap? If not, just check what they supply as from memory I think the one that came with mine was too high.

Re: Original brake light switch?
Thanks David. I installed the wiring and bought a switch for the mechanical upgrade during the restoration, but didn’t get round to making the bracket. I’ve got some steel flat bar somewhere, I’ll see if it will do and have a go at making one. Unless anyone has one already made up?
