We adhere to the 12 days of Christmas rule - six days before, six days after the big day and the way it used to be.

Re: New Reproduction Parts for E-Type's
Just received this from Mike Frank (Coolcat Corp): Hi David: You may be aware that I've been working on reproducing C20766, which is the unique thermostat used for Series 1 4.2 E-Types. This thermostat had full bypass control, high flow, wax-motor, and a set point of 74C. It was also backwards compa...

The green (they were always green leather on the S1 cars) hold-down straps pass through the eyelets when the hood is down and attach to the fittings on the rear bulkhead.

Re: FACTORY FIT - Series 1 3.8
Trico Washer Fluid Trico supplied Jaguar with the Reservac, a repurposed wiper vacuum tank, and they supplied Lucas with the wiper blades who then supplied them to Jaguar. There are numerous examples of such co-operation between the two companies, dating back to 1928 when Trico was contracted to su...

Why not just stick with the original 4 speed knob? If you need the knob engraved with the 5th gear position you really should not be driving, or consider a move to an automatic

Re: Cooling fan relay questions
Could be the PO installed it or the Service Department but clearly it was not done at the Factory! Is it required? The fan motor is basically a repurposed wiper motor which does not have a relay so given the Lucas switches are rated at 16A and the fan draws about 7.5 Amps the Lucas/Jaguar engineers ...

The Lucas relay for the fan motor #C18122 was mounted on the right hand side of the header tank support bracket. It was deleted on LHD cars in October 1962 and on RHD cars in June 1963:

Re: Wiper Motor 5-way connector block clamp C2796
The DL3A was only fitted to US export LHD S1.5 cars but also used on other British cars whose electrical engineers were obviously way brighter than those at Jaguar. https://i.postimg.cc/CKc3CdGG/wiper-1.jpg Usually on eBay e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364510017646?epid=2095480182&hash=ite...

You are correct Rory. The following document from the Forum KB fully explains the operation of the Lucas DL3 Wiper Motor operation and wiring: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hxrf5x1ws1zac1i/wiper-articles.pdf?dl=1 I should have remembered the DL3 motor is always 'live' and the switch provides the earth, ...

Re: Mangoletsi throttle pedal assembly
Probably the best upgrade you can make to an E-Type! more info here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3512
Silk smooth operation and twice the pedal travel so easier to modulate the throttle and you will see an improvement in mpg as a result.

Re: Wiper Motor 5-way connector block clamp C2796
The wiring diagram shows the switch on the left and the motor on the right. The green wire is in the dash and connected to the switch (as is the red/white for the park) and not wired to the motor The original connector is a 4 way (Lucas did not produce a 5 way) so Jaguar added a single extra connect...
