No David I'm sticking with the standard black sidewalls. The model will be completed to the same spec as Richards 3.8, which is being restored to its original spec of bronze with suede green! Sounds rare and errr interesting... Not many bronze e types about.

Thanks all for the advice, I had a feeling that the emission control sticker was for the Strombergs...

Will get to work once the car is done! Incidentally I have fully converted the model (1:8 Monogram) to RHD. Will post photos when done

Location of "stickers" and plates in the engine ba

Hello All I know it's a model S1 3.8, but I recently purchased a set of decals for the engine bay and I was wondering where the real manufacturer's plates and "stickers" go? Seem to be having a hard time finding a definitive list. I am aware of the location of the following: Chassis Plate Ignition C...

Present for an E-Type owner

Evening all

Just thinking ahead to Christmas, any original Jaguar themed ideas for a present for someone who owns a S1 4.2 FHC and is restoring a 3.8 FHC? Perhaps some finishing touches to the 3.8 but I'm pretty sure he's got a lot of bits.

Thanks

Evening all

Whilst on the subject of insurance, is there ANYONE who would insure a 1965 FHC for an 18 y.o to drive? I've had a good look around and seem to have come up with nothing. It's not mine but a friend won't mind me driving it if I can get insurance (he's a trustworthy chap!)

Funny you should say that, because on the pictures he posts (and from what I remember him saying) he said that it was a 2+2!

The "Twitter famous" E-Type

A question for the younger (!) members of the forum like myself Has anyone been following the exploits of a chap named Simon Bennett and his friend Neil, who were on a roadtrip through France in early September? Si owns a beautiful 1966 S1 4.2 2+2 in Carmen Red, and was posting pictures of his visit...

I saw a S2 coupe on the way there the other day! That's really exciting because I used to live in Ripley and study at the nearby sixth form. I may have to stick my nose in ;) does anybody know who owns a S3 2+2 in black in Ripley?

E-Types in Derbyshire

Hello All

Having seen many an E out on the roads in Derbyshire, mostly on the main routes on the A6 towards Bakewell and A52 towards Ashbourne. I have seen one or two around the chesterfield area where I live. Just wondering if we have any forum members in the area, and if so, what do you have?

Hello All!

Dear all in the E-Type Club I'll be honest here, I'll not be getting an E for a very, very long time. I'm an 18 year old with a huge passion (some would say obsession) for the E-Type. I love driving out through the Peak District in the summer and seeing all sorts of classics on the road, it's the ne...
